UNIT 10 PREHISTORY

Over hundreds of millions of years, life spread through the seas and over Earth's surface. The first life-forms were small and simple. Later forms were more complicated and more varied.

Long before people appeared on Earth, other forms of life existed. Many of these living things are now extinct, meaning they have died out completely. The period when they lived is called prehistory, or prehistoric times.

PREHISTORY finished when humans invented writing, then we talk about HISTORY.

Prehistory is divided into:

• Stone Age, which is divided into:
• Palaeolithic
• Neolithic
• Metal Age
