A river is a body of moving water. It has three stages in its life:
- a river starts high in the mountains
- then, the river flows over the surface
- and finally the river ends into a sea, lake or another river
- source: the beginning
- course: the route
- flow: amount of water
- mouth: the end
A river basin is an área of low land drained by a river and its tributaries.
